I’m Back.

This blog is an outlet for me to say how I feel but I had to stop using it 18 months ago. I joined a board and had to play the political correctness game. That is now over, and it didn’t end well. I can hold my head high and know that I tried to make change happen for the better but lost out to those that fear it.

Change is inevitable. There is so many quotes written about how hard it is to accept change. I always look at the bright side and try to find the lessons in all experiences. This one has shown me that those with big egos that want to be in the spotlight will do anything they have to in order to get there. The idea of doing what is best for the majority is now a rare value. Rising up by walking on the bodies of those you have destroyed along the way is the new normal.

I have also decided one of my values is to always hope for the best in people but prepare for the worst. Don’t hold it against them. They simply have a different view of the situation to you. Always always be kind.

Its been great to get so many genuine friends reach out and thank me and check in on my. For that I am so grateful. Its been quite a positive experience in that way. These people know we can have honest open discussion and still be friends even if we don’t agree. These people act like adults. They enjoy life and are not victims of their own making. They don’t fear change, they embrace it. I don’t see these people on a regular basis but I know they have similar values to me. It helps to know I’m not alone.

Its also been very painful. I feel like I have wasted 18 months of my life, dedicated to helping others, and all the changes that were to come will disappear into nothing. I had to fight for every step forward. A famous speech by Theodore Roosevelt that I have printed and on the wall in my office has a line in it that says “if he fails, he failed while daring greatly”. And this is what I have done. And I will continue to go on doing.

On the bright side, I can now get back to sharing my thoughts and street photography with the world. I hope some of the words I write touch a soul out there and resonate with them to let them know they are not alone.
